Synopsis:

The correct management of soft and hard tissue is one of the keys for final functional and esthetic outcome in implant dentistry and is a constant challenge in our daily practices. Regardless of skill set, sophisticated techniques, or even the most expensive biomaterials, we may not be able to achieve our desired results. An exhaustive amount of research and development has been dedicated to comprehending the intrinsic mechanisms that lead to tissue regeneration. Utilizing the understanding of these complex mechanisms of healing, we are now opening new horizons and possibilities for greater success. ‘Natural’ Guided Regeneration is now achievable. Utilizing L-PRF as an autologous blood concentrate, along with the latest biomimetic concepts, has the potential to alter our vision and elevate the level of care we offer our patients.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand how the use of autologous growth factors enhances wound healing.
  2. Compare and contrast PRF and PRP and choosing the correct formulation for a procedure.
  3. Demonstrate the use of fibrin/platelet membranes across the spectrum of dental specialties.
