Course Description:
Have you grown tired of hearing patients’ complaint of swollen and painful gums after your beautiful crown insertion? Or of easily bleeding gums after anterior veneers or crowns? And how about the large recession you noticed at the time of crown placement which might have necessitated a revision of your crown prep and a new impression the day of crown delivery?
If so, this course may be of great value to you and your practice.
This course will provide participants with the knowledge necessary to understand the periodontal phenotypes with respect to restorative dentistry. It will provide the participants with the skills and knowledge to perform clinical crown lengthening procedures.
The course will cover the anatomy and physiology of the periodontium, the indications for crown lengthening, the surgical techniques involved in crown lengthening, and the post-operative care of patients who have undergone crown lengthening.
Course Objectives: Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify the indications and contraindications for crown lengthening
- Describe the surgical techniques involved in crown lengthening
- Perform crown lengthening procedures on pig jaw
- Provide post-operative care for patients who have undergone crown lengthening
