DQAC has adopted the new dental infection control rules that include significant changes to your daily operations. The following rules will be discussed:

  1. Hand Hygiene,
  2. Respiratory Hygiene & Cough Etiquette,
  3. Safe Injection & Sharps Safety,
  4. Sterilization & Disinfection,
    1. Slow speed handpiece sterilization;
    2. Wrapping, bagging contaminated instruments;
  5. Environmental Infection Prevention & Control,
  6. Dental Unit Water Quality.

“To comply with the proposed rule, it is estimated that two hours of initial training will be needed for all staff, and one-hour annual training for all staff.”
